Daisy and Raul, husband and wife, are a great team! And Raul loves to cook as much as Daisy likes to please clients! Alambre is a mix of chicken and beef with poblano chiles and an awesome dark sauce and cheese. A Philly cheese steak taco that comes three to an order. The have great Mayan specialities, salbutes, panuchos, sopes. And soup called caldo. Their condiment bar features potatoes cooked in chicken broth with a whole cayenne chili and beans treated similarly. Just divine!

We discovered this little gem of a place last year while staying in an apartment about 3 blocks away for the months of February and March. The food was always so fresh and delicious, Daisy and Raul were so friendly and we ate there many evenings, usually for under $12.00. It will be wonderful to go back there this year, in fact, in just a few weeks.

Where on Mapchick's 07/08 map would this be? How about La Bruja?

don't know if its on the map or not. It is in Salina Chica colonia I believe, and just about across the street from the paint store. Tiny little place, green with some white lattice type wood on it. Last year they were opening around 7 p.m. I may be wrong on the name of the colonia.

Emily, thanks! Neither place is on Mapchick's map, but if they were, what would be the coordinates? That's what I'm asking.

Zina - help, please?

It's one block up from the Little Yellow School House, around the corner from the Red Cross (Cruz Roja).

This was one of the best meals and best values we had on our last trip. Will go back every time we are on Isla.
