Live from Islas
For a while, I was changing of island each two months, travelling back and forth from Montreal to Isla Mujeres, from Isla Mujeres to Montreal.
Yes, I'm a nomad. But for now, I've decided that my main place will be ... Isla Mujeres. Surprised? It's because you don't know that little island located at some miles from the coast of Peninsula of Yucatan.
So please, come and discover my special life - in fact, I'm working at Montreal while living on Isla Mujeres ;)... a real digital nomad ;)

Back on this blog - so happy to be here again!
I have a big change in my life: now I'm living on Isla full time, with short trips to Montreal to visit family, and also for my work. So I will tell you about my new life.

I'll begin this new serie of texts with Lupita's story - you know her, she's the angel who help the cats of Centro to have a better life.
She told me her story - you will find the spanish (and french) version on http://petitsminousetgatitos.com. Here's the english version (I did the translation, so it's not perfect english. sorry ;) )

Hi, I’m Lupita, I’m living on Isla Mujeres for 15 years, and I’m a woman who loves the cats…
I love them since the day – 14 years ago – that a beautiful cat with incredible blue eyes (she looked as a Siamese) came to my home and stay there. I called her “Nena, she was so sweet, so intelligent, and so...present. She helped me to forget how I was sad to be far from my family and my city. She had 32 kitties and a lot of “grand kitties”… She died from cancer last year.
Six years ago, I was walking in the street when I saw some cats looking for feed in the trash boxes. I was so sad to see them so I began to feed them all the nights. I was so happy to do that, so with the time, I had groups of 10, 12 or 16 cats at some corners in Centro. Now when I’m walking in the streets, if I stop to speak with friends, the cats recognize my voice, and come to ask for food!
I’m feeding around 130-150 cats now, every night, even if it’s raining, I put the food under a car so they can eat quietly…

In January I was said by the Ayuntamiento to stop to feed the cats, because it was a “bad image” for the tourists. I don’t stop because they need me and I love them…

*Lupita is from Mexico DF
